About this Artwork: Turns out, aliens don’t run on stardust alone. Sometimes even the fastest ships in the galaxy need to swing by a lonely desert station for a tank of unleaded and a good view of the sunset. A reminder that no matter how far we travel, every journey needs a pit stop. I wanted to merge the quiet solitude of the desert with the boundless mystery of the universe. The gas station — a humble outpost of human travel — becomes a meeting place for worlds.
About the Artist: I used to admire paintings from a distance until the Covid lockdown allowed me to discover instructional art tutorials on line. After 3 years of practice, I am now growing and expanding my skill through local art classes. Retired, I have time to enjoy my new passion. I work in acrylic getting my ideas from travels, nature, & family. Painting connects me with my mother - an artist who passed away much too young. I try to create works that have meaning to me hoping I can touch the viewer as well.
