What is a Paint Party at Esperanza Gallery like?
Paint Party at the Esperanza Gallery is a guided painting instruction for all skill levels in a social setting. No artistic experience is needed. An art facilitator (usually local artist Esperanza Deese or a guest artist) walks you step by step through replicating the featured painting of the event.
The events are usually limited to a maximum of 12 participants .
Participants can paint their own unique piece of art while enjoying time with friends, relaxing music and a favorite beverage in the cozy atmosphere of this beautiful art gallery studio on top of the Redondo Beach pier.
Most evening events are open to 21+ participants only. Perfect for Date Nights, Ladies Night Out, Friends Night Out, and Me Time.
Events labeled "Family Paint Party" are open to participants ages 6 and above. Perfect for Family Bonding, Mommy/Daddy and me, budding young artists, and the young at heart.
Each event will specify the age requirement.
Do I need to sign up in advance?
The events are usually limited to a maximum of 12 participants. Due to this limited seating, you need to sign up in advance.
You can check out our Upcoming Paint Parties and book your seat by clicking here or the PAINT PARTY page.
How much does a ticket to the Paint Party cost?
Paint Parties at the Esperanza Gallery are generally $45 per person.
Special events such as pet portrait and kids only classes may have different prices.
Check out our PAINT PARTY page for specific event pricing.
What is included in the price?
We provide a 16 x 20 canvas, acrylic paint in a variety of colors, use of brushes, easels and aprons, and step by step instructions for the featured painting. You'll go home with a painting, fun memories and perhaps a new found talent or passion!
For 21+ only events: We offer a choice of: complimentary glass of wine, soft drink, tea, coffee or water. You may also bring your own bottle of wine and use our wine glasses and bottle opener without a corkage fee. NO HARD LIQUOR ALLOWED.
For Family Paint Party, we offer a choice of soft drink, tea, coffee or water.
What is your cancellation policy?
For regular (non-holiday) events, we require 72+ hours notice if you need to cancel or change your registration. This provides us the opportunity to fill the space. We will offer a refund for any cancellations done 72+ hours before the event begins: we know that "life" happens. Cancellations and reschedules can be made by email only.
For cancellations less than 72 hours but before an event begins, we offer registration credit for a future event date at the same price point. We are happy to reschedule 1 time only. After that, your ticket is forfeited and counts as a “no show.” “No shows” for all adult and kid events will not be rescheduled/refunded under any circumstance.
For private events, the deposit is refundable, if event is cancelled more than 21+ days before the scheduled date. If cancelled 7 to 20 days prior, the deposit will be held as credit. Cancellation less than 7 days in advance of the event forfeits the deposit.
Holiday events have a no refund/no reschedule policy, but you can give the tickets to friends or family for that same holiday event as long as they meet the age requirements of the class. Just email us with the new painters' names.
For all cancellations, reschedules and changes, please email us at the address we indicated in the confirmation email we sent you when you booked your seats. (Sorry, we don't want spammers getting our email off our website.)
Can I bring my own beverage?
You may bring your own bottle of wine only on events labeled "21+ only". However, absolutely no hard liquor is allowed at the Gallery.
Can I bring food to the event?
You may bring non-messy nibbles to enjoy with your beverage. However, please be mindful that we have a limited space for each painter so a small appetizer plate is all that the painting table can accommodate.
For private events, we can provide counter space for you to lay out a charcuterie spread.
Where are you located? Where do I park?
Esperanza Gallery is located at the upper level of the Redondo Beach Pier, across from the Shrimp Lovers, Beach E-Bikes, and the Police Substation; on the way to Kincaid's.
Heading west on Torrance Blvd after you pass Catalina Ave, take the rightmost lane and make a right to the driveway for Kincaids.
You can find parking at the outdoors parking lot to the right of the first roundabout.
If no spots are available, continue on the driveway towards Kincaids for the other outdoors parking lot or the parking structure.
Note your parking spot number and pay for parking at any of the pay stations.

What time do I need to arrive for an event? How long is an event?
Doors open 10 minutes before the event. This is enough time to find your seats, put your aprons on and get settled for painting.
Events last about 2 to 2.5 hours, depending on the complexity of the painting and the number of painters. On rare occasions, events may be as short as 90 minutes or as long as 3 hours.
We recommend that you allow for extra time when paying for parking to avoid interruptions of getting up during the event to feed the meter.
Do I have to paint the featured painting of the event?
People are welcome to paint whatever they want to paint at our events. There are many painting examples on our walls to choose from as well. We however, will be teaching the featured painting of the night and will be able to assist you with the steps needed for that painting only. Often, artists follow the featured painting instructions but change the style or colors to reflect their own personal style and creativity.
What if I come with my significant other and we don't want two of the exact same painting?
You may choose to paint the featured painting with one person inverting the image, or painting in a different color palette. This creates two unique canvases that can be hung side by side.
Another option is to take the painting and alter it to spread across two canvases that can be hung side by side.
Our instructors will help you think creatively so you can leave the night with unique canvas art for your home.
What should I wear?
We provide aprons but recommend wearing paint-friendly clothing just to play it safe! Short sleeves or sleeves you can roll up will help keep cuffs out of the paint.
Can we host a private party at Esperanza Gallery? Can you come and do a private paint party at our house or office?
