"Sunset"

"Sunset" is contemporary realism piece depicting the sun setting, just before darkness comes.  It's rich in color and depth.  The horizon is still glistening in gold and rose gold hues.  The sea is also glimmering in the last remaining sunrays.  

This piece is an acrylic with gold and rose gold leaf faux encaustic.

Artist: Karen Baughman

Karen Baughman is a contemporary artist residing in the South Bay. She has a background in graphic design, interior design and fine art.  Her focus is on creating pieces that aren't entirely representational.  Of her work she says... "I enjoy creating pieces that allows a different narrative for each viewer.  Most of my ocean pieces have a calming Zen-like quality."  Her work has been in domestic and international exhibitions.
