"Ahab"

Ahab is a fun loving pelican in Redondo Beach near the pier.  He is enjoying the view and possibly his next meal! He is created using wire and dyed resin. (By the way, Sebastian the Crab did escape the Ahab’s gullet and went surfing!)

Artist: Rosine Sörbom

Rosine is a Torrance native and has lived her life and raised her 3 sons near the beach, drawing inspiration from the ocean, the wildlife, and all of nature.  Much of her work reflects this love of the local scenery.  Rosine is a multimedia artist, starting young in life with soft pastel and oil paint under the guidance of local artist Gertrude Richardson. She moved into acrylic, watercolor, stained glass, creative needlepoint, and most recently cold cloisonne under the guidance of Bob Mackie.
