"Polar Bond"
"Polar Bond"
Artist: Amelia Wilson
Medium: Acrylic
Dimensions: 16 x 20
Artist Statement: A mother polar bear rests with her cub in the snow, their bodies close, calm, and still. There’s no violence, just quiet presence. Her size offers shelter, her stillness a sense of safety. It's an unexpected moment of warmth in a place that we often think of as desolate and unsurvivable. It reminds us that nurturing happens everywhere and shows us what it looks like: steady, grounded, and essential.
Artist Bio: My art is a collection of visual waypoints; natural stopping places to consider locations and experiences that feel important and worthy of deeper observation. I’m interested in our interpersonal relationships and our sense of place, and the sweet spots in between where the magic of our lives often appears. My work helps me explore what it means to exist in a particular moment. I use intuitive color palettes and marks that feel immediate; my paintings are bold and messy, just as life can be.
